Matthew Dechen

Matt Dechen is a lifelong resident of West Deptford and a graduate of West Deptford High School (2001). After meeting his wife (Kim) in college (Philadelphia University/Thomas Jefferson University) they decided to move back to West Deptford to raise their children. Matt has two children in the West Deptford Schools, Collin (WDMS) and Grant (OVES). Having children in the district is the driving force behind Matt's passion about the state of our schools and the decision to join the School Board.
Matt is a Senior Vice President at Healio/Slack Inc, a local West Deptford business, where he works with Pharmaceutical and Medical Device teams bringing new products to market. Matt has been with the company for over 18 years with extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, mapping, bidding, and utilizing resources to make informed and strategic decisions. Matt is very focused on always having a forward-facing goal and having a 5- and 10-year business plan with checks and balances.
Matt values the education he received in the West Deptford School District. He wants that same level of education for his children and West Deptford community. He also recognized the need to deliver this with proper checks and balances aligned with responsible budgeting, forecasting and execution. He looks forward to giving back and serving the West Deptford community.
