Thomas F. Schulte
Interim Superintendent of Schools for West Deptford Township
ABOUT YOUR SUPERINTENDENT
Over the span of approximately forty (40) years in public education, I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to teach at the elementary, middle, high school and college level. I have enjoyed reading The Cat in the Hat to those in kindergarten as much as I have detailing derivatives and integrations in Advanced Placement Calculus!
My administrative experiences have been varied as well. I have held administrative positions at the elementary, middle and high school levels also. At one proud moment in my career, I was the Assistant Principal at the Middle School here in West Deptford. In other districts, I held positions of Principal, Supervisor of Special Services and Superintendent of Schools.
I also have had the unique opportunity to assist school districts in another capacity, while working with the Educational Resource and Information Center (EIRC). As a teacher trainer, I had the chance to stay contemporary of educational research/trends and present throughout the state. Eventually, I became Executive Director of EIRC.
I truly consider myself very fortunate to have had these experiences. I hope I may share my experiences to the benefit of the the West Deptford school community!
On a personal note, I am happily married to my college sweetheart. My wonderful wife is a recently retired school nurse. We have two amazing adult children. Our daughter is a local elementary principal. Her husband teaches and coaches at a local high school. They have an incredible 11 year old boy and a magnificent 8 year old girl! My son is a financial analyst for a large international firm in Chicago. His fiancée is completing a residency at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago.
In my leisure, I enjoy spending time with my family including my ninety-six (96) year old Dad!
